Description
The TECNA 3168 is a 75 kVA single-phase AC scissor-type (X-type) suspended weld gun with air-operated actuation, built for production spot welding. It delivers a maximum welding current of 32,000 amps, with electrode force from 1,922 lbs (855 daN) on the shortest arm down to 550 lbs (245 daN) at full 40.55 in. (1030 mm) reach (8 bar). The 3168 is the built-in-control version, with an integrated TE470/TE480 microprocessor control in the handle; its separate-control twin is the 3169.
Features
- 75 kVA single-phase AC transformer with water-cooled, epoxy-resin-coated windings (ISO 5826).
- Integrated TE470/TE480 microprocessor weld control: 63 weld programs, constant-current mode, pre-weld/slope/pulse/post-weld functions.
- Gyro suspension on sealed bearings with rotation lock for accurate maneuverability with a TECNA balancer.
- Long 10.04–40.55 in. (255–1030 mm) arm range; adjustable working stroke plus temporary extra (retraction) stroke for hard-to-reach welds.
- Fully water-cooled copper secondary; lube-free chromium-plated cylinder and shaft; cooling-circuit valves for easy electrode changes.
- Supplied with earth-leakage switch (30 mA); ground-fault unit available on request.
- Recommended balancer: TECNA 9422.
Installation Requirements
- US stock supply: 440 V / 60 Hz (400 V / 50 Hz on request).
- Delayed fuses 150 A; cable section 0.05 in² (35 mm²) at L=30 m.
- Compressed air: 116 psi (8 bar); consumption 5/11 Nm³ per 1000 spots (short/long stroke).
- Water cooling: 127 gal/h (480 l/h).
- Net weight 194 lbs (88 kg) with cables, hoses, and suspension, without arms.
