Description

The TECNA 9358ES is an ESD-protected zero-gravity balancer for use in electrostatic-discharge-protected areas. Unlike a retractor, a zero-gravity balancer holds the suspended load at whatever height the operator leaves it — once set, the load remains stationary at the released position rather than returning to a rest height. Conductive construction throughout the housing, rope, and connection points lets the 9358ES dissipate static charge instead of accumulating it, protecting electronic components and PCB assemblies that are handled near the suspended tool. The 9358ES carries a load capacity of 39.68–48.5 lbs (18.0–22.0 kg) over a working stroke of 78.74 in. (2000 mm), with a stainless steel rope and ribbed cast aluminum body running on a tapered drum and ball bearings. Capacity is adjustable by means of a worm screw, and an adjustable stroke limiting device sets the working range to the application. A friction-brake device (Option F) that controls drum rotation speed is available when placing a new order; it cannot be retrofitted to installed units. A conductive rotating hook (Option RC) is also available as an accessory. Within the 2000mm ESD zero-gravity sub-line, the 9358ES sits between the 9357ES (30.86–39.68 lbs) and the 9359ES (48.5–55.12 lbs); all share the same 78.74-in. stroke.
