The TECNA 8208D pairs a 100 kVA single-phase AC transformer with air-operated actuation in a press-type spot/projection welder configuration. The 8208D provides a maximum welding current of 31,000 amps on steel with a standard electrode force of 1,654 lbs at 6 bar; the optional 1242 daN cylinder upgrade (Art. 8235) increases maximum electrode force to 2,792 lbs. The thermal current rating at 100% duty cycle is 7,000 amps. A water-cooled transformer, electrode holders, and electrodes support extended duty cycles, with epoxy resin-coated windings for long service life. The 8208D offers an electrode throat depth of 21.26 in. and a projection plate throat depth of 16.54 in. for both spot and projection welding applications.
