The TECNA 9502ES is an ESD-protected zero-gravity balancer for use in electrostatic-discharge-protected areas. Unlike a retractor, a zero-gravity balancer holds the suspended load at whatever height the operator leaves it — once set, the load remains stationary at the released position rather than returning to a rest height. Conductive construction throughout the housing, rope, and connection points lets the 9502ES dissipate static charge instead of accumulating it, protecting electronic components and PCB assemblies that are handled near the suspended tool. The 9502ES carries a load capacity of 44.09–66.14 lbs (20.0–30.0 kg) over a working stroke of 82.68 in. (2100 mm), with a stainless steel rope and ribbed cast aluminum body running on a tapered drum and ball bearings. Capacity is adjustable by means of a worm screw, and an adjustable stroke limiting device sets the working range to the application. A friction-brake device (Option F) that controls drum rotation speed is available when placing a new order; it cannot be retrofitted to installed units. A locking-unlocking device (Option BC) and conductive rotating hook (Option RC) are also available as accessories. Within the 2100mm ESD zero-gravity sub-line, the 9502ES is the lowest-capacity variant; the 9503ES steps capacity up to 66.14–88.18 lbs at the same 82.68-in. stroke.
