Description
The floor-mounted bridge rail system suspends a portable spot welding gun over a rectangular work area from free-standing supports bolted directly to the floor around the work cell. A trolley travels along the bridge while the bridge travels along parallel runways; paired with a properly sized tool balancer, the system delivers easy, fluid movement through all three axes of motion. Capacities range from 150 to 4,000 lbs, with rectangular coverage up to a 34-ft bridge span and 124-ft runways standard, and standard support distances of 20, 25, and 30 feet.
Because the system is self-supporting, it places no stress on the building’s overhead structure — the best solution for buildings with very tall ceilings, or where overhead cranes must travel above the workstation. Installation is typically more straightforward than a ceiling-mounted system, requiring only a reinforced concrete floor of at least 6 inches, and the crane is easier to relocate in the future. The modular design provides flexibility to reconfigure or expand as production needs change. See our other suspension options to find the right fit for your building.
Features
- Capacities from 150 to 4,000 lbs.
- Rectangular coverage with up to a 34-ft bridge and 124-ft runways standard; support distances of 20, 25, and 30 feet.
- No existing overhead support structure required — installs on any standard 6-in. reinforced concrete floor.
- Enclosed track protects the rolling surface for easy trolley movement and long service life.
- Rigid runways for superior load positioning — no drifting or “crabwalking” of the bridge.
- Smooth rolling surfaces for easier movement of bridge and trolleys.
- Easy to move and position loads; easier to relocate than ceiling-mounted systems.
- Multiple track profiles and spanning capabilities — adaptable, flexible, and cost competitive.
Options
- Aluminum or stainless steel track.
- Aluminum or coped aluminum bridge.
- Cantilevered supports.
- Seismic Zone IV construction.
- Motorized bridge and trolley drives.
- Galvanized finish or custom paint colors.
Requesting a Quote
Floor-mounted bridge rail systems are configured to your application. Add this item to your quote, and include the following in the order notes at checkout so we can spec your system accurately:
- Weight of the welding gun or tool to be suspended (or required capacity).
- Coverage area needed: bridge span and runway length.
- Floor construction: thickness and condition of the concrete slab (6-in. reinforced minimum).
- Track material preference: steel, aluminum, or stainless steel.
- Any options — motorization, cantilevered supports, or Seismic Zone IV requirements.
- Finish requirements: standard, galvanized, or custom paint color.
